Exposing the corruption and abuses done by pastors within evangelical churches in the Philippines

On October 31, 1517 Martin Luther pinned his 95 thesis at the All Saints Church in Wittenberg Germany. In his thesis, Luther outlined his stance against the abusive practices by the Roman Catholic church in selling plenary indulgences, which were certificates which would reduce the temporal punishment for sins committed by the purchaser or their loved ones in purgatory and thus the protestant reformation was born.

Fast forward to the 21st Century and once again, corrupt practice has creeped into churches. Inspired by the Trinity Foundation's now defunct "The Wittenburg Door" a satirical publication that satircal humurous publication that scoofs at the corrupt practice of American evangelical churches, The Wittenburg Door PH (Philippines) embarks on this mission to expose the corruption wtihin evangelical churches.

Most corruption within evangelical churches are swept under the rug and many do not have some sort of external check and balance system or a proper grievance machinery. Before we publish we investigate the scandals. If an information is emailed to us, we verify it first in order to be sure that we will not be used for vengeance or to destroy an innocent individual. If somebody is published here, it means we have done our homework and the said person or institution deserves to be here.

We hope that through this website, we might be able to provide that check and balance and that through our efforts, corruption within the church may be weeded out in order that the church of our Lord Jesus Christ may become spotless and blameless until He returns. Soli Deo Gloria !

This entries here also cannot be removed as this site does not censor content. You will never be able to know the people behind this site. We are a group of concerned believers who use our skill sets to destroy you because of the abuses that you have committed while occupying your sacred office. You will never know us and you can never be able to sue us. For those who have abuse the office of the pastor, we are your worst nightmare.

The Bible says in 1 Timothy 3:1-4 that a pastor must be a good man whose life cannot be spoken against. He must have only one wife, and he must be hard working and thoughtful, orderly, and full of good deeds. He must enjoy having guests in his home and must be a good Bible teacher. He must not be a drinker or quarrelsome, but he must be gentle and kind and not be one who loves money. He must have a well-behaved family, with children who obey quickly and quietly.

The pastors featured in the rogues gallery below are exactly the opposite of the qualifications above. They are sexual predators, lovers of money more, dishonest, no integrity at all and immoral. What is worst about this is that they stand in their pulpits every Sunday and make condemning judgements against the "supposed" sins of their members, the very sins, they have no qualms they themselves keep on committing. None of the entries here are libelous. Every entry here is well researched and backed by evidence. Some these evil pastors are still in office because their scandals has ben swept under the rug. We at the Wittenburg Door wish to rectify this error and this grave injustice.

The greedy and money loving pastors - Pastor Arnold Tangub, Pastor Dennis Tangub and Pastor Joannis Bebe Tangub Sep 10th, 2016 [viewed 3915 times]

These three pastors are discussed here together since they come from one family and has the same modus operandi. The Bible commands admonishes pastors in 1 Peter 5:2 that pastors should "Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind" the word "Filthy Lucre" is translated in other versions as "gane shamefully, not for money or out of greed" These three pastors are doing exactly just that.

It all began with Pastor Arnold Tangub, the more eldest of the two. He pastored the Bible Baptist Temple of Talisay City, Cebu. He became a member of what is known as the Independent Baptist Missions for Asians (IBMA). A non-profit organization whose strategy to raise support for local pastors is for the pastor to go to the United States of America, present their work in churhes there and raise monthly support or support for special projects such as building projects. While there is nothing wrong with receiving foreign support, the means by which it is obtained is what is in question here. Throughout the years Pastor Arnold Tangub went back and forth the United States of America. Everytime he came back he became a little bit richer and his church property expanded and grew.(But ironically the number of people attending has plateaued) He built for himself a modest house.

Just like any other greedy, money loving preacher, Pastor Arnold Tangub uses deceipt to gain support. He sorts of stretches the truth, increases the number of "converts" or his missionary supported. In several instance we have backed checked that some missionaries are claimed to be supported by him and yet it is either he only gave them a one time gift or that their support is half or even less on what he claimed in the reports that he has given these local pastors. He "cries" in fronts of Americans, showing them that he has such a burden for souls when the truth of the matter is that he is only concern how fat his bank account will get. He has purchased several properties, vehicles and justifies these purchases as "for the use of the ministry." He has truly lived a comfortable life. Because he wanted more and because his support from the U.S.A is somewhat stable he rebelled against the leaders of the IBMA and formed his own group with a contact in the U.S.A. Now He belongs to the Victory Baptist Group. His love of money can be seen how he treats his own churh staff, they are severely underpaid and overworked and yet he has so much support from the United States.

Seeing their brother's financial gains by peddling the Word of God, Dennis Tangub and Joannis "Bebe" Tangub decided to become pastors. They used to work in the private sector, never finished Bible School (Although this may not be an issue if one is truly studious when it comes to God's Words, which we doubt the two are) but decided to enter the ministry because of money. Dennis Tangub now pastors a Victory Baptist Church in Makilala North Cotabato in Mindanao. Just like Arnold Tangub, Dennis used to be affiliated with the IBMA, but for whatever reasons and we are sure this involves money as nothing motivates these people but greed, dennis transfered to Arnold Tangub's Victory Baptist group. Just as the same with Arnold Tangub, Pastor Dennis Tangub goes back and forth the United States of America selling his "ministry" to the naive people who continually supports him not knowing what his real intentions are.

Similarly Pastor Joannis "Bebe" Tangub followed in his brother Arnold's footstep. He now pastors the Bible Believing Grace Baptist Church of Danao Cebu. Being more aggressive than Dennis, he has built a little empire of his own in a short period of time. He did not join his brother Arnold's rebellion against the IBMA because he saw an opportunity to climb up the IBMA ladder. His moved paid off as he is now one of the leaders of the IBMA. Same with his other two brothers Pastor Joannis "Bebe" Tangub spends a lot of time going back and forth the United States of America, and there are even times when he and his family stays there for several months in a year. (Now we wonder how could one pastor a church like that) Since most Americans cannot pronounce the name "Joannis" he is known in the United States as "Brother John." As with his two brothers, he is scheming, involved in dubious transactions, stretching of the truth etc. He is very good in making his American visitors very much welcome at his church that is why they throw money at him. He tells frequently tells his American pastor friends how he loves them in the Lord so much when in truth and in fact he only loves their money. If you pastor an American church he will ask you to speak at his church. He is very fast in doing that even if he does not know you well. He will not ask you for money but he will ask you to "pray" for his needs. He is very good in scheming people. You will surely be ripped off even if he did not ask you for anything as he will show you his "ministry needs." He will make you feel so welcome and make you feel that you are his very close friend for a long time. All part of his tactic to get money from you or your church.

These men, Pastor Arnold Tangub, Pastor Dennis Tangub and Pastor Joannis "Bebe" Tangub aka "John" are among the most greedy, dishonest, lying, dubious, scheming, money loving men to ever enter the ministry. They do not deserve to be in the ministry and considering their frequent travels to the United States and their staying there for a long time, their U.S Visas ought to be revoked as they are milking the American Churches for their personal gains. These are people who has no loyalty, cannot be trusted and will dispose of you not matter how close you are or no matter how seemingly cordial and welcoming they are. They will just use you and unwittingly abuse you. American churches should stop sending support to these pastors as they are already in the ministry for a long time. Why would they need that much support up to now ? Have they not taught their people to give ? If ever these people come to your church, do not give a single dollar to them. The acts of Pastor Arnold Tangub, Pastor Dennis Tangub and Pastor Joannis "Bebe" Tangub aka "John" are among the gravest of the indepdent Bible Baptist scandal in history.
